Expectations

As the oldest pupils in school, year 4 children are encouraged to take on further responsibilities including supporting younger pupils during play and lunch times through a playground helper system.

P.E

Class 9 have PE every Thursday (indoor) and Monday (outdoor)
Class 10 have PE every Thursday (indoor) and Monday (outdoor)
Please make sure they have their full P.E. kit in school all week.
In addition children will also have weekly swimming lessons in the Autumn and Spring Terms 

Homework, Book Bags and Reading Scheme Information

Your child will will receive a half termly homework letter in their homework books which they will take home in a red folder.  Homework is sent home on Friday and should be returned to school the following Tuesday.

Each child should have a book bag which they bring with them each day into school. Children will be heard to read regularly, Teachers will review progress and change levels accordingly. Reading is also supported by teaching assistants and volunteers. 

Sets Information

We have ability sets for Numeracy which enables us to provide rich, tailored learning experiences that fully support and challenge all pupils. Your child may have a  different teacher for this subject.

Literacy will be taught in classes by the class teacher. 

Topics

Year 4 have a range of exciting half termly topics including: Fit for Life, Game On, Blitzed Brits, Dragonology, Rotten Romans and Rainforests
