Key Steps Gymnastics @ Sunderland

After qualifying from the North Tyneside finals, 3 teams from Appletree went on to the regional finals in Sunderland. A team from KS1, KS2, and an open category competed in their age groups against others from the North East. The KS1 team were placed second gaining a silver medal!! The KS2 team picked up a fantastic bronze medal, and Amey Eden competing in the open category against year 6 children also received a bronze medal! This was the first time Appletree had successfuly represented all age categories at the same time! Fantastic work by all the girls, you made Appletree proud!

Year 3 and 4 Mini Tennis @ Monkseaton High

The year 3 and 4 children competed against other local schools in a tennis competition. The competition was a mixture of individual matches and skill based activities. Both teams competed well with the year 4 team qualifying for the next round in the North Tyneside finals.

Year 4 Quicksticks Regional Finals

 The year 4 team travelled to The Parks, North Shields to represent North Tyneside in the regional finals. There were teams for other local authorities – South Tyneside, Gateshead, Newcastle and Sunderland. The team won 4/4 in the group stages and were narrowly beaten 1-0 in the semi finals by the eventual winners. The team were outstanding from start to finish throughout the 3rounds of the competitions to get to this stage. Once again Appletree had fantastic support and thank you for taking time out to cheer the children along.

Year 4 Dodgeball Tournament @ Monkseaton High

A squad of 10 children took part in a dodgeball tournament against other local schools. The games were fast and furious with lots of dodging and throwing taking place! The children showed super sportsmanship during their matches. Well done!!

Dance festival March 2016

The Year 4 children put on a FANTASTIC dance at the annual festival at Whitley Bay Playhouse. In front of a sell-out crowd the children got a huge applause for their great efforts. Well done to all who have practiced for weeks and given up their lunch times to make it a special night! 

Year 4 Quicksticks@ Marden Bridge March 2016

Well done to the A B C teams from Appletree who competed in the North Tyneside quicksticks tournament. All teams extremely well, winning an impressive 8/10 games. The A and B teams have qualified for the next round so watch out for upcoming news. Thank you to all those who took time out to come and support.

Year 4 Fencing Tournament  @ Monkseaton High 2016

Well done to the Year 4 team who competed against 7 other teams, they all did fantastically well and finished in 2nd position overall! A special mention to Kai Sterling who received an award for the best boy fencer in the tournament!

Year 4 Tag Rugby@ Marden Bridge 2015

On a sunny afternoon in September a Year 4 team entered into a local tag rugby tournament. Appletree did well winning 2 matches out of 4. Some super tries were scored along the way! Thank you to all those who took time out to come and support.

KS2 Key Steps gymnastics 2015

A super effort by the KS2 girls saw them compete at the Parks Leisure centre. The children were scored and judged on their vaulting skills and floor routine. Thank you to all those who took time out to come and support.

Year 4 Football Festival@ The Soccerdome 2015

Well done to the 2 teams who represented Appletree at the North Tyneside football festival. The A and B team played a combined 10 matches and won 9 of them. Fantastic effort by all! Thank you to all those who took time out to come and support.
